You're flying a hedge trimmer. Keep its blade on the yellow line as it moves along the hedge, and lift over anything that isn't hedge.
Play is six hedges, each adding one new thing. Today's hedge is one long run that's the same for everyone and changes daily.
Cats, gnomes and pigeons sit on the hedge: lift over them. Branches and washing hang above it: stay low, on the line. Hit anything and Kestrel stops for a second. The game tells you what's coming the first time you meet each one.
A hedge trimmer that hovers.
Kestrel maps your hedge line once, then flies it: a level top and clean sides every few weeks, with nobody on a ladder. It doesn't exist yet. This game does.

Meanwhile, the notes: what we're learning about robot mowers, hedge trimmers and the AI behind them.
Level is how much of the hedge ended up within a blade's width of the line. Scalped means you cut too deep; shaggy means you left it too tall. Hits are things you flew into.
From the notes, while you catch your breathHow a robot mower decides where to goMost robot mowers don't know where they are. Here's what that costs, and what changes when they do.
